Aave aave
What is Aave?
Aave (AAVE) is the governance token of Aave, a non-custodial, open-source liquidity protocol. Aave markets let users supply digital assets to earn interest and borrow against collateral. The protocol is deployed across Ethereum and other major networks.
What problem does Aave solve?
Traditional lending is intermediated and difficult to access globally. Aave provides permissionless liquidity and programmable borrowing with transparent onchain collateral and risk parameters.
How does Aave work?
Suppliers deposit assets and receive interest-bearing aTokens. Borrowers post collateral and receive debt tokens. Positions must remain over-collateralized; if Health Factor falls below 1, liquidators can repay debt for collateral. Interest rates adjust with utilization. AAVE/stkAAVE holders participate in governance.
