Linea is an Ethereum Layer 2 zkEVM incubated by Consensys. It uses zero-knowledge validity proofs for Ethereum settlement. ETH is the gas token; LINEA is the network token without governance rights.
What problem does Linea solve?
Ethereum's base layer is expensive and limited. Linea executes compatible transactions on L2 and publishes proofs to Ethereum for verification.
How does Linea work?
Users submit Ethereum-compatible transactions. Sequencer orders and executes. Batches generate ZK proofs. Data submitted via EIP-4844 blobs. LINEA total supply 72B; 85% ecosystem, 15% Consensys.
