What is MemeCore?
MemeCore is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain and creative studio designed for Meme 2.0. Official docs describe it as turning internet virality into lasting cultural and economic value, rather than treating meme coins only as short-lived speculative instruments. Its native token is M ($M).
Its thesis is community-first: creators, traders, holders, stakers, validators, and other participants are contributors to a meme's lifecycle. MemeCore's on-chain contribution framework is intended to measure cultural and economic activity, including meme creation, social engagement, and transactions, so participation can feed into rewards and longer-lived communities.
The ecosystem combines meme-native applications and infrastructure. The official directory lists MemeX (meme/social/launchpad), MemeMax (perpetuals exchange), PUPA (no-code token generator), Everyswap (DEX), MeCo Wallet, MemeCoreScan, bridges, analytics, games, and other consumer and DeFi applications.
What problem does MemeCore solve?
MemeCore positions Meme 2.0 as a response to short-termism in the meme-coin market. Its docs argue that many meme coins are optimized for speculation and price momentum, leaving communities vulnerable when attention fades; price alone is an incomplete measure of cultural relevance, community strength, or sustainability.
The project identifies an incentive gap: communities create memes, remix content, spread narratives, and generate activity, but cultural contributors are not necessarily rewarded by conventional token models. MemeCore attempts to connect participation and on-chain activity to transparent reward infrastructure, grants, staking, and project-level vaults. These are design goals, not guarantees that any meme project will succeed or produce returns.
How does MemeCore work?
Proof of Meme (PoM) is MemeCore's central Meme 2.0 framework. When an MRC-20 meme token is issued, the docs say a dedicated Meme Vault is automatically created. The vault is intended to track community activity and distribute rewards to validators, stakers, traders, and other PoM participants across a token's lifecycle.
PoM includes two reserve mechanisms. MemeCore says 10% of block rewards goes to a Viral Grants Reserve; eligibility is based on measurable criteria such as community size, transaction volume, or TVL, although the exact evaluation criteria are marked TBA. Separately, 5% of every MRC-20 token's total supply is assigned to the Meme Reserve: 1% for $M stakers and 4% for meme-token stakers.
$M pays network gas and supports staking, validator participation, PoM block proposal/validation, delegation, ecosystem rewards, and governance. Official token docs list 5B initial supply, 10B maximum supply mined through block rewards, and 18 decimals. Current consensus docs describe epoch-based validator selection, about 7-second blocks, and PoA-like production during an epoch; the open-source client README identifies the implementation as PoSA, so consensus details should be checked against the latest release.

Frequently asked questions
What is MemeCore?
An EVM-compatible Layer 1 and ecosystem focused on meme coins, creators, and community participation under the Meme 2.0 model.
What is M?
M is MemeCore's native token for gas, staking, validator/delegation participation, PoM, ecosystem rewards, and governance.
What is Proof of Meme?
PoM is an on-chain framework connecting Meme Vaults, contribution evaluation, staking, grants, reward distribution, and governance across a meme coin's lifecycle.
What is a Meme Vault?
A smart-contract hub the docs say is automatically created when an MRC-20 token is issued, intended to track activity and distribute rewards.
How does MemeCore reward communities?
It says content creation, social engagement, and on-chain transactions can be measured and connected to rewards, grants, staking, and vault infrastructure.
How are MRC-20 tokens connected to rewards?
The docs allocate 5% of each MRC-20 supply to a reserve: 1% for $M stakers and 4% for meme-token stakers.
Is MemeCore proof of stake?
The consensus guide describes epoch-based, PoA-like production, while the Go-MemeCore README identifies PoSA; consult current network/client docs because architecture is evolving.
