What is Qtum?

Qtum is an open-source public blockchain combining Bitcoin UTXO with Ethereum EVM. It uses PoS consensus and Decentralized Governance Protocol (DGP) for on-chain parameter changes without hard forks.

What problem does Qtum solve?

Qtum addresses the need for a blockchain that combines Bitcoin's proven UTXO model with Ethereum's smart contract capabilities and flexible governance.

How does Qtum work?

Qtum uses UTXO for transactions and AAL (Account Abstraction Layer) for smart contracts. PoS with MPoS reward distribution. DGP allows block size and other parameters to change via smart contracts. Initial 100M QTUM with halvings.
